To deepen our commitment to every student, recognizing the multiple forms of diversity understood and regarded as indispensable sources of knowledge, the NYCDOE is developing a rigorous, inclusive, affirming, and standards-aligned K-12 English Language Arts and Math curricula, the Universal Mosaic Curriculum, that will be available to all schools by Fall 2023. The NYCDOE seeks to bring the mosaic of our students’ experiences together as we develop a student-centered curriculum that reflects the depth of content standards and draws out the assets of our diverse students, which are essential to our students achieving excellence.
Universal Mosaic Curriculum Engagement Process Overview
To deliver on our vision for the Universal Mosaic Curriculum, the development process will draw out the voices of our students, families, educators, and community stakeholders through a citywide engagement process. The intended goals for the Universal Mosaic Curriculum engagement process includes:
